USA Pro Cycling Challenge announces route

The route has finally been published

Route of 2011 USA Pro Cycling Challenge - tour in Colorado

The race will begin with a Prologue in Colorado Springs, and follow with six stages totally 7 straight days of racing, with no rest days. This is the planned route and stages (Stage 1 is on day 2). 

• Monday, August 22nd: Prologue — Colorado Springs
• Tuesday, August 23rd: Stage 1 — Salida to Crested Butte/Mt. Crested Butte
• Wednesday, August 24th: Stage 2 — Gunnison to Aspen
• Thursday, August 25th: Stage 3 — Vail (Individual Time Trial)
• Friday, August 26th: Stage 4 — Avon to Steamboat Springs
• Saturday, August 27th: Stage 5 — Steamboat Springs to Breckenridge
• Sunday, August 28th: Stage 6 — Golden to Denver

Oh yeah, we put in the miles on these babies. Miles along the boardwalk and down to the jetty in Newport Beach, California. 

A quiet morning at The Wedge. The break can look like this (below)

Enjoying the sea breezes and views down the coast from Newport Beach to Corona Del Mar to Laguna Beach.

No lycra needed to bike along the boardwalk

You can take the Ferry boat over to Balboa Island  as a fun option - adult with bicycle is only $1.25!

Of course the bike ride begins at C'Est Si Bon Bakery, for sandwiches, a French Bakery in Newport Beach!
